We built The Pickle Jar because every other tool got pickleball wrong.
Pickleball facilities are running on software written for tennis clubs in 2008, gym chains in 2014, or generic "scheduling tools" that have never seen a paddle. Owners we talked to were stitching three or four products together — one for bookings, one for payments, a spreadsheet for open play, a separate app for DUPR. Every weeknight they were spending fifteen minutes seating eight players. Every month they were paying per-booking fees on top of card fees on top of platform fees.
We started with one belief: the open play night is the heartbeat of every great facility, and nobody had built software that respects it. So we built the orchestrator first — a real DUPR-powered snake draft with sit-out memory that scores every round on skill balance and partner diversity. Then we built the rest of the operating system around it: bookings, members, payments, leagues, native iOS, kiosk mode, CSV migration in fifteen minutes. Flat monthly pricing. No per-booking tax on your growth.
We're a small team based in the US, building for the operators we know personally — the ones who close the gate at 11pm and reopen it at 6am. Every feature we ship started as a text message from a facility owner who needed it last Tuesday. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. hello@thepicklejar.io.
